‘Shashtipoorthi’ Set to Release with New Song Composed by Ilaiyaraaja and Penned by MM Keeravani
The much-awaited film Shashtipoorthi, featuring Rupeysh in the lead role, is all set to hit cinemas soon. The film brings together the iconic pair from the legendary Ladies Tailor movie, Rajendra Prasad and Archana, who play pivotal roles in this heartwarming narrative.
In a significant musical development, a new song titled Yedho Ye Janmalodo has been released. This soulful track is a beautiful collaboration between two maestros—music composed by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja and lyrics penned by MM Keeravani. The song provides a unique take on a woman’s perspective of her man, beautifully encapsulating emotions in every note. This is also the first time that Keeravani has written lyrics for an Ilaiyaraaja composition, adding a special touch to the song.
Director Pavan Prabha shared his experience of recording the song in Chennai with Ilaiyaraaja, highlighting the different approach he sought for Yedho Ye Janmalodo. Wanting meaningful yet catchy lyrics, he approached Keeravani, who, after hearing the melody, quickly crafted lyrics that complemented the tune and enhanced the emotional depth of the song.
The movie, which spans various life stages, includes a nostalgic retro segment shot in Tathapudi near Yanam, where Rajendra Prasad and Archana appear as they did 30 years ago, adding a beautiful layer of sentimentality to the film. The film also beautifully showcases the natural beauty of the Godavari region, with key sequences filmed in and around Rajahmundry.
Shashtipoorthi promises to be a cinematic experience that blends nostalgia, romance, and emotional depth, amplified by the extraordinary musical collaboration of Ilaiyaraaja and MM Keeravani.
