Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has officially resigned from his position. He submitted his resignation letter to the governor a few minutes ago, and it is expected to be approved shortly.
Jagan’s five-year tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh concludes following a decisive election victory by the TDP alliance. Chandrababu Naidu is set to assume office as Chief Minister for the fourth time.
In an unconventional move, Jagan chose not to meet the governor in person to submit his resignation, opting instead to send a letter. This mirrors the actions of Telangana’s former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who similarly submitted his resignation by letter after losing the 2023 assembly elections.
