Title: PM Modi to Launch Key Initiatives in Wardha, Maharashtra Under PM Vishwakarma Programme
Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Wardha in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region on Friday to participate in the National PM Vishwakarma Programme. This event marks one year of progress under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma scheme, during which PM Modi will issue certificates and disburse loans to beneficiaries, symbolizing support for artisans across various trades.
Highlighting the contributions of artisans, the Prime Minister will distribute credit to 18 beneficiaries from different trades and release a commemorative stamp to celebrate the achievements of the PM Vishwakarma initiative. The scheme aims to enhance the quality and reach of products and services offered by artisans and craftspeople, facilitating their integration into both domestic and global value chains.
In addition, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Amravati. Spanning 1,000 acres and developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), this park is part of a broader initiative to establish seven PM MITRA Parks aimed at transforming India into a global hub for textile manufacturing and exports. Officials state that these facilities will create world-class industrial infrastructure, attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and spur innovation and job creation within the textile sector.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will launch the Maharashtra government’s Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centre scheme. This initiative aims to establish skill development training centers in renowned colleges across the state, targeting youth aged 15 to 45 to help them become self-reliant and enhance their employment prospects. Approximately 150,000 youths will receive free skill development training each year.
Additionally, PM Modi will introduce the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme, which aims to provide early-stage support to women-led startups in Maharashtra, fostering entrepreneurship and empowering women in the region.
