Shruti Haasan Exits Adivi Sesh’s ‘Dacoit’ Over Uncomfortable Work Conditions
Mumbai, Dec 21: Actress Shruti Haasan has officially parted ways with Adivi Sesh’s highly anticipated project, Dacoit. Initially, reports suggested that her exit was due to a scheduling conflict with another project, Coolie. However, a source close to the development has since clarified that the reason behind her departure was not scheduling but rather “uncomfortable work conditions.”
According to insiders, Haasan, who had filmed the teaser for Dacoit last year, was troubled by frequent rescheduling of shoot dates and multiple retakes of scenes. The actor’s discomfort was exacerbated by what was described as excessive involvement of her co-star in the film’s script and direction. “There were instances where two people were directing the film simultaneously, causing confusion on set,” an insider explained.
Despite her interest in exploring new acting roles and collaborating with the film’s original director, Haasan found the atmosphere on set unworkable due to the constant adjustments and the overwhelming involvement of the co-actor. This led her to decide to leave the film, with a source adding, “The over-involvement of the co-star created an uncomfortable work environment for Shruti.”
Following Haasan’s exit, the film’s makers announced Mrunal Thakur as her replacement on December 17, unveiling a new poster and teaser featuring Adivi Sesh and Thakur. Fans were quick to speculate the reasons for Haasan’s departure, with some pointing to creative differences and on-set difficulties.
Dacoit: A Love Story, directed by Shaneil Deo, is an action-packed drama that follows two estranged lovers, played by Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, as they embark on a series of robberies that ultimately transform their lives.
Meanwhile, Shruti Haasan remains busy with other major projects, including Coolie, where she stars alongside Rajinikanth. After that, she will join Prabhas in Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam. The actress also has Chennai Story lined up in her growing filmography.
