Ram Gopal Varma Goes Into Hiding Amid Arrest Fears, Seeks Anticipatory Bail
Film director Ram Gopal Varma, known for his controversial statements and social media posts, is reportedly in hiding after police cases were filed against him in multiple districts of Andhra Pradesh. Varma is accused of posting morphed images and making derogatory comments about political figures such as Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh on social media platforms.
The Ongole police have issued two notices to Varma, urging him to appear for questioning, but he has not responded to the summons. Reports suggest that authorities are now searching for the director in Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
In response to the legal action, Varma has filed for anticipatory bail in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The hearing for his petition took place today but was postponed until tomorrow, causing frustration for the director, who had hoped to secure bail immediately.
Despite the legal troubles, Varma’s Twitter account remains active. On November 23, he shared photos claiming to have participated in a shoot in Coimbatore, maintaining his social media presence while staying out of the public eye.
As Varma awaits the High Court’s verdict, the ongoing search for him and the legal proceedings will determine his next course of action.
