The Bengal Skating Association, with the backing of the state government, has inaugurated the state’s first 200-meter skating rink at Eco Park, marking a significant milestone in promoting roller sports in the region. Khushboo Kejriwal, the association’s secretary, has initiated a one-week free training camp for aspiring skaters, under the expert guidance of coach Shubhra Ganguly and team manager Debashish Kumar.
This camp aimed to prepare skaters for the prestigious seventh ranking championship of the Roller Skating Federation of India, held in Raipur from June 6 to 9. Participants from various districts honed their skills at the camp and later competed in Raipur, achieving remarkable success with three gold, three silver, and five bronze medals.
Khushboo Kejriwal expressed immense pride in the skaters’ accomplishments and reiterated the association’s dedication to nurturing young talent in West Bengal. The newly built rink at Eco Park is set to become a central hub for roller sports in the region, offering state-of-the-art facilities for both training and competitions.
