BJP Condemns Congress for Allegedly Inciting Violence with Remarks Against PM Modi
New Delhi witnessed a sharp exchange between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress on Thursday, as BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi accused the Congress of using inflammatory remarks aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he claimed incite violence.
Trivedi referenced statements made by Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, highlighting instances where words like ‘violence’ and ‘murder’ were allegedly used in Parliament and during election campaigns. He criticized the rhetoric, citing incidents such as the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump and the killing of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as examples of how such language can lead to violence.
The BJP spokesperson also pointed out historical instances where Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, used terms like “maut ka saudagar” (merchant of death) against Modi during his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister. He emphasized that such language is irresponsible and should not be used for political gains.
Trivedi further raised concerns about security threats faced by Modi in states governed by the Congress compared to the security provided to Congress leaders in sensitive regions. He highlighted the Ishrat Jahan case, alleging political interference in the investigation, which initially labeled her a terrorist targeting Modi but was later revised.
Amidst the escalating rhetoric between the two parties, Trivedi called for maturity in political discourse, suggesting that such language undermines the credibility of those involved in public service.
