BRS Spokesperson Files Complaint with ED Over MoU Allegations
Hyderabad: Krishank Manne, spokesperson for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has lodged a formal complaint with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi, expressing grave concerns regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Swachh Bio and the Telangana government. The MoU, announced by Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy on August 6, 2024, promises a significant investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
The complaint, acknowledged by ED authorities, alleges a “conflict of interest” and “quid pro quo” given that Anumula Jagdeeshwar Reddy, a director of Swachh Bio, is the chief minister’s brother. Manne contends that this familial connection raises serious questions about the integrity of the agreement.
Additionally, the complaint notes that Swachh Bio was established merely 15 days before the chief minister’s visit to Philadelphia, USA, where the MoU was signed. Manne argues that the company, based in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills, appears to be a shell entity with no active business operations. He questions the necessity of announcing this company abroad and speculates on possible foreign fund involvement and money laundering concerns.
The complaint also highlights the involvement of Harsha Pasunuri, who was present with Chief Minister Reddy during the MoU signing. Manne has called for a thorough investigation into the financial backgrounds of Pasunuri and Jagdeeshwar Reddy, urging authorities to scrutinize the legitimacy of the investment and the MoU.
Manne has appealed to the ED to conduct a comprehensive probe into the matter, asserting that it represents a case of corruption requiring immediate attention.
