Chandrababu Naidu Directs Officials to Clear Pending Files, Focus on 15% GSDP Growth
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set a firm deadline for government officials to clear all pending files by the end of this month, stressing the importance of an efficient and streamlined approach, particularly as the state transitions to an online system. Addressing a workshop with ministers and secretaries, Naidu emphasized that no delay should occur in the clearance of non-financial files.
Naidu highlighted the crucial target of achieving a 15% growth rate in the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) to meet development goals. He urged officials to dedicate themselves towards this goal, ensuring that progress is maintained across all sectors.
The Chief Minister also addressed the rising number of grievances within the state administration, particularly within the Revenue Department. Naidu attributed these complaints to inefficiencies from the previous government and urged reforms to address public dissatisfaction. Ensuring a citizen-centric governance model, he called for enhanced efforts in providing services that meet the expectations of the people.
Naidu underscored the importance of training and capacity building for government employees through the ‘Mission Karmayogi’ initiative. He encouraged process re-engineering to improve service delivery, citing the need for greater accessibility of services to citizens, especially through WhatsApp Governance.
As part of his vision for a more efficient administration, Naidu called for each department to work with clear targets in line with the Swarnandhra Vision. He also directed IAS officers to engage in field visits, with guidelines for the initiative expected soon.
The Chief Minister announced a focus on securing the maximum central funds by March and revealed plans to launch the ‘P4’ initiative during Ugadi. Additionally, he introduced the ‘Happy Sunday’ program aimed at fostering better interpersonal relationships within the administration. This initiative will also encourage employees to contribute meaningfully to society, aligning with Naidu’s belief that true happiness stems from service to others.
The Chief Minister’s directives come amid ongoing efforts to improve governance and public service delivery, with positive results already visible across several sectors.
