Chandrababu Naidu Aims for Global Telugu Leadership by 2047 at Telugu Samakhya Mahasabhalu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed the Telugu Samakhya Mahasabhalu on Friday, outlining his vision for the future of the Telugu community. He expressed his aspiration to see Telugus in a leading position worldwide by 2047. Speaking to a large gathering, he urged Telugus across the globe to unite in supporting the development of Andhra Pradesh and contribute to its growth.

In his speech, Naidu emphasized the importance of overcoming poverty, with inspiration drawn from the legacy of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder N.T. Rama Rao (NTR). Naidu credited NTR for bringing global recognition to the Telugu people and reiterated his commitment to the ideals of development and prosperity that NTR championed.

The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp and was visibly delighted to see Telugus from all parts of the world gathered in a common cause. Reflecting on the unity of the Telugu people, Naidu highlighted that, regardless of where they reside—be it between Anantapur and Adilabad, or even in far-off countries like the United States—Telugus remain closely connected by their shared culture and language.

Naidu further emphasized the importance of respecting the Telugu language, likening it to the reverence one has for their mother. He also noted that many Telugus living abroad seem to show more respect for their language than those living in the Telugu-speaking regions of India.

The Chief Minister reminisced about his tenure as the Chief Minister of the combined state in 1996, mentioning that much of Hyderabad was rocky and underdeveloped at the time. He shared how he envisioned the transformation of the city into an IT hub, a vision that has now been realized. Naidu attributed much of the city’s growth to the efforts of the TDP, particularly through initiatives like Vision-2020 and the establishment of “Telugu Angels,” a start-up initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurship.

Naidu also took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of various prominent figures in the Telugu community, including former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, and Chief Justice U.U. Lalit. He noted that the film industry (Tollywood), along with cultural expressions like Kuchipudi and Batukamma, has contributed significantly to the global recognition of Telugu culture.

Concluding his speech, Naidu reiterated the importance of unity and collaboration, calling on the Telugu diaspora to join hands for the continued progress of Andhra Pradesh and the elevation of the Telugu community worldwide.
