Chandrababu Naidu Alleges Irregularities in Tirumala Laddu Ghee Supply, Criticizes YS Jagan
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has raised serious allegations regarding irregularities in the supply of adulterated ghee used in the preparation of the sacred Tirumala laddus, following recent arrests made by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Naidu expressed that the CBI’s actions have exposed the fraudulent practices in the procurement process, validating earlier concerns raised by his party.
During a meeting with his ministers, Naidu recalled that TDP had consistently flagged the issue of adulterated ghee in the sacred prasadam. The CBI arrests, he argued, have now proven these allegations true. He also took a swipe at YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had dismissed TDP’s concerns when the issue was first raised. Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of manipulating tender processes related to ghee procurement, suggesting that certain individuals benefitted from relaxed tender norms.
TDP ministers who were present at the meeting supported Naidu’s allegations, claiming that despite the exposure of these irregularities, Jagan was attempting to mislead the public by denying any wrongdoing. They voiced concerns over Jagan’s tactics and warned party members to stay alert to any deceptive actions.
Additionally, the ministers accused Jagan of trying to shift the blame onto the TDP for various past incidents, including the murder of his uncle, Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, the knife attack on himself at the airport, and an alleged stone-pelting incident. Naidu and his team emphasized the importance of staying vigilant against what they termed as Jagan’s ongoing attempts to distort the truth.
