Chandrababu Naidu Pushes for WhatsApp Governance to Enhance Public Service Accessibility in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled an ambitious plan to leverage WhatsApp as a tool for streamlining governance and making public services more accessible to citizens. In a recent review meeting on Real-Time Governance, Naidu directed officials to set up dedicated ‘ManaMitra’ WhatsApp Governance Cells in all district collectorates across the state.
The initiative aims to expand the use of WhatsApp for governance by providing up to 500 services through the platform. Naidu stressed the importance of raising public awareness about WhatsApp Governance and tasked district collectors with leading the implementation of this program in their respective districts. These governance cells will facilitate efficient access to government services, including resolving public grievances and enabling digital payments for government-related bills.
To ensure seamless access, QR codes will be displayed in government offices, enabling citizens to easily connect with services via WhatsApp. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for comprehensive public education campaigns, leveraging mass media to enhance awareness and participation.
In addition to these initiatives, Naidu proposed that every household have access to an Artificial Intelligence expert to assist citizens with adapting to emerging digital governance technologies. This forward-thinking initiative is poised to redefine how citizens interact with government services, making processes more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly.
