Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu Calls for Education Sector Reforms to Build Knowledge-Driven Society
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for significant reforms in the education sector to support the government’s goal of creating a knowledge-driven society. During a review meeting with the Human Resources Department, he emphasized the importance of aligning the education system with global trends and innovations to ensure that students are well-equipped for the future.
Naidu highlighted the need to modernize the education system by incorporating both online and offline methods to adapt to international changes. He made it clear that the objective was not to undermine the private education sector but to enhance public education, raising its standards to match global benchmarks. “Telugu students should emerge as leaders in the global knowledge economy in the coming years,” Naidu asserted.
To achieve this, the Chief Minister proposed sending special teams to renowned national and international universities to study their teaching and learning methodologies. He emphasized that the insights gained from these visits should be used to update the curriculum, aiming to improve the state’s rankings in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and other global evaluations.
Naidu also stressed the importance of establishing universities that focus on future-oriented sectors such as civil aviation, green energy, and tourism. In addition, he underlined the need to balance academic learning with skill development to meet the demands of the job market. As part of this strategy, he announced that the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub in Amaravati will integrate skill development institutions from five state zones, promoting a more holistic approach to education.
The Chief Minister also called for a renewed focus on vocational education, urging officials to work collaboratively to improve school ratings and enhance the quality of education. “We must focus on digital teaching and learning while upgrading skills according to societal needs,” Naidu said, stressing the need for continuous improvement in educational practices.
Concluding the meeting, Naidu urged all officials to dedicate themselves to the task of transforming the education sector. “All officials must work toward enhancing the education sector with utmost dedication,” he affirmed.
