One of the principal reform initiatives spearheaded by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy following the Congress’s ascension to power is the stringent crackdown on drug supply and consumption in Telangana. He is diligently working towards transforming Hyderabad into a drug-free city.
During a recent review meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized, “Do not spare anyone involved in drug peddling and consumption, regardless of their status, whether a celebrity or a public figure. Form anti-drug teams if necessary. The message must be unequivocal: people should be deterred from even contemplating drug use.”
Revanth Reddy’s strong stance coincides with the recent Bengaluru rave party bust that has garnered significant media attention. He reiterated to the Narcotics Department that Telangana must be rendered drug-free at all costs.
This initiative follows the recent introduction of rapid drug test kits in Telangana. These kits enable law enforcement to determine drug use within 10 minutes, streamlining a process that previously involved sample collection, lab testing, and waiting for results. Revanth Reddy’s proactive anti-drug measures have garnered widespread commendation.
