Dil Raju Issues Apology to Telangana Following Controversial Remarks at “Sankranthi Ki Vastaam” Trailer Launch
Noted film producer Dil Raju, who is backing the highly anticipated film Sankranthi Ki Vastaam featuring Victory Venkatesh and directed by Anil Ravipudi, has issued an apology to the people of Telangana after certain comments made during the movie’s trailer launch event stirred controversy. The film, set to release on January 14 in celebration of the Sankranti festival, has already generated considerable buzz, but Dil Raju’s remarks at the event sparked a backlash on social media.
In response to the uproar, Dil Raju took to social media to clarify his statements and offer an apology. He explained, “As a native of Nizamabad district, I organized the event there. During the celebration, I made a comment regarding the traditional ‘dawat’ in our culture. However, some on social media have alleged that I insulted or disrespected the people of Telangana. I want to clarify that I hold immense respect for Telangana’s culture.”
Dil Raju further emphasized his deep connection to the region and its cultural heritage. He shared, “I deeply admire Telangana’s cultural traditions. My film Balagam, which was set in the backdrop of Telangana’s customs, was widely appreciated by the people of Telangana and received praise from all political parties. Additionally, we shot Fidaa in Banswada, which highlighted Telangana’s culture to the world. Being a native of Telangana myself, how could I ever demean the state or its people?”
Through this statement, Dil Raju sought to put an end to the controversy and reaffirm his respect for the people and culture of Telangana. His comments, intended to honor the traditions of the region, were evidently misinterpreted, and he has taken the necessary steps to clarify his position and apologize for any offense caused. With the clarification, Dil Raju hopes to move forward, focusing on the excitement surrounding Sankranthi Ki Vastaam and its upcoming release.
