Gunasekhar Shifts Focus to Youth Drama with New Film Euphoria
Popular director Gunasekhar, known for his grand cinematic style and blockbuster hits, is making a notable shift in his approach with his latest film, Euphoria. Aiming to connect with younger audiences, Gunasekhar is venturing into the realm of youth drama, moving away from his previous epic narratives.
The film’s glimpse was launched last night, offering a tantalizing preview of the contemporary issues facing today’s youth. The teaser touches on themes such as drug addiction, party culture, and the grave issue of sexual assault. Accompanied by a gripping score from Kaala Bhairava, the glimpse sets a serious tone that resonates with the challenges of modern life.
While the preview doesn’t reveal much, it indicates a narrative that delves deep into the lives of young people grappling with crime and addiction amid a backdrop of rave parties. The cast features noteworthy actors such as Sara Arjun and Bhumika, along with a lineup of new faces including Likhita Yalamanchali, Kalpa Latha, Sai Srinika, Ashrita, Mathew Varghese, and Prudhvi Raj Addala in key roles.
When asked about the film’s English title, Euphoria, Gunasekhar mentioned that he initially considered the title Udvegam but humorously recalled being advised to stop writing if that was the case.
As Gunasekhar transitions into this new genre, Euphoria promises to provide a fresh perspective on youth issues, reflecting the complexities and realities of the current generation.
