Director K. Vijaya Bhaskar’s New Film Faces Harsh Reality Amidst Past Success
In a notable contrast to his illustrious career, director K. Vijaya Bhaskar, renowned for his five iconic films—Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Manmadhudu, Malliswari, and Jai Chiranjeeva—is now grappling with a challenging phase. Each of these classics, helmed by Bhaskar and penned by Trivikram, significantly impacted Telugu cinema, with the first four achieving blockbuster status.
However, the recent release of Bhaskar’s new film, Usha Parinayam, on August 2, has faced an unfortunate reception. Despite its high-profile release alongside several other films, Usha Parinayam struggled to attract audiences, with reports indicating that many theaters, including multiplex chains like PVR, recorded minimal ticket sales. In fact, some showings were canceled due to failing to sell the minimum required five tickets.
This stark reality underscores the competitive and often unforgiving nature of the movie market, highlighting the challenges even experienced directors face in the current cinematic landscape.
