India’s Manufacturing Sector Booms, Creating Job Opportunities
Bengaluru: India’s manufacturing industry has surged by 40% between June 2022 and June this year, marking significant growth and fostering new job opportunities, according to a report released on Tuesday.
The latest data from global hiring platform Indeed highlights a robust upswing in the manufacturing sector, positioning it as a pivotal driver of India’s economic expansion.
“As India aims to cement its status as a global manufacturing powerhouse, the sector presents abundant prospects for businesses and job seekers alike,” stated Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed.
Key roles such as CNC machine operators have witnessed a remarkable 160% increase in job openings, underscoring the sector’s demand for skilled technicians proficient in computer numerical controlled equipment and software. Production supervisors and machine operators have also seen substantial growth, with rises of 155% and 119%, respectively.
This surge reflects the sector’s modernization and heightened requirement for specialized skills, with communication skills taking the lead in job requirements at 17%, followed by CNC skills (10%), manufacturing skills (9%), English proficiency (8%), and CNC programming (6%).
Moreover, manufacturing companies are bolstering their recruitment strategies by offering comprehensive benefits aimed at enhancing job satisfaction, productivity, and employee loyalty.
According to a report by the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), this growth is bolstered by factors such as increased domestic consumption, government initiatives, heightened global investments, and growing global demand for Indian-manufactured goods.
