Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Pays Tribute to Indira Gandhi, Hails Her Legacy of Empowerment

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid heartfelt tributes to late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary, celebrating her as an inspiration for a “people’s government” and lauding her visionary leadership. The CM commemorated National Integration Day, which marks Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary, and reflected on her significant contributions to the nation.

Recalling the life and services of India’s first and only woman Prime Minister, Revanth Reddy praised her for continuing Jawaharlal Nehru’s legacy of strong leadership and pioneering a series of reforms that benefitted millions of Indians. He particularly highlighted her commitment to the upliftment of the poor and women, noting her empowering words, “Women are the symbol of Indian strength.”

Emphasizing the Telangana government’s commitment to women’s empowerment, Revanth Reddy said, “Inspired by Indira Gandhi’s words, the Telangana government is giving top priority to women’s welfare.” He also shared details of the state’s ongoing efforts, including the Indiramamma Rajyam initiative, which aims to create one crore women crorepatis.

The CM also pointed out that the Telangana government is celebrating the occasion with the inauguration of Indira Mahila Shakti buildings across 22 districts and highlighted the groundbreaking project of establishing solar power plants with the help of 4,000 women’s groups—a first in the country.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president, Mahesh Kumar Goud, also paid his respects to Indira Gandhi, acknowledging her enduring influence on India’s progress.

Revanth Reddy’s tribute underscores the continuous efforts of the Telangana government to honor Indira Gandhi’s legacy through policies that prioritize the welfare and empowerment of women and marginalized communities.
