Nikita Porwal Crowned Femina Miss India 2024
Mumbai: Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh has been crowned the queen at the 60th edition of Femina Miss India, held at Famous Studios on October 16, 2024. The 18-year-old actress from Ujjain has already established herself in theater, storytelling, and advocacy, and will now represent India at the Miss World competition.
Nikita received her crown from last year’s winner, Nandini Gupta, with actress Neha Dhupia presenting her the prestigious sash. The event also celebrated the achievements of the runners-up: Rekha Pandey from Daman and Diu, who secured the first runner-up title, and Aayushi Dholakia from Gujarat, who took home the second runner-up title.
Rekha Pandey, a Film and Mass Communication graduate based in Mumbai, draws inspiration from Priyanka Chopra’s journey and aims to empower rural women through her platform. Aayushi Dholakia, passionate about fitness and wellness, aspires to motivate young women with her resilience and dedication.
Nikita’s journey to the crown is impressive. Beginning her career as a TV anchor, she has recently appeared on the big screen and has a strong passion for storytelling. In her hometown of Ujjain, known for its rich spiritual and cultural heritage, Nikita’s curiosity and critical mindset flourished early on. She has participated in over 60 theatrical productions and authored a 250-page piece titled Krishna Leela.
Having completed her schooling at Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School, she later pursued higher education at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Gujarat. With a keen interest in cinematography and theater, she is determined to work with renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the future.
Nikita captivated the audience in a stunning nude-toned champagne gown by Portia and Scarlett, embellished with Swarovski crystals. Her sleeveless, thigh-high slit ensemble perfectly blended elegance and glamour, complemented by silver open-toe heels and diamond drop earrings.
Beyond her beauty and talent, Nikita is also an ardent animal lover. She intends to leverage her platform to promote compassion for all living beings, showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact.
