Dil Raju Addresses Media on Income Tax Raids: Clarifies Misconceptions

Tollywood’s prominent producer, Dil Raju, spoke to the media on Saturday about the recent Income Tax (IT) raids conducted at his residence and offices. The four-day operation had drawn significant attention, and Dil Raju took the opportunity to clarify several key points.

The producer assured the public that IT raids are a routine part of large-scale business operations. “Similar raids have been carried out on other prominent individuals in the industry, and these are standard procedures,” he explained, noting that this was the first raid on his companies in 18 years. He further emphasized that the raid was a part of the usual process followed by the IT department, and there was nothing extraordinary about the operation.

Dil Raju revealed that during the raid, the IT officials thoroughly examined the financial records and found nothing unusual. “They were surprised to find that all our accounts were clear and in order,” he stated. He also clarified that only ₹20 lakhs in cash was present across his residence and office at the time of the operation.

Addressing the way the raid was carried out, Dil Raju explained that IT officials restricted movement and did not allow anyone to leave the premises during the operation. He urged the media not to sensationalize the issue and to refrain from spreading unverified rumors.

The producer also responded to rumors circulating about his mother, who had reportedly suffered a heart attack during the raids. He clarified that she had been unwell due to a lung infection on January 19, the day of the raid. She received medical attention at the hospital and is now recovering at home.

Concluding his statement, Dil Raju reiterated that such checks are a common part of business procedures and that the Income Tax Department was simply fulfilling its duties. He asked for responsible media reporting and urged the public to avoid speculating about the situation.
