BJP President J.P. Nadda inaugurated the Tiranga Yatra in Rajkot on Saturday, marking the start of a nationwide campaign under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Abhiyan, which will continue until August 15 in anticipation of Independence Day. Addressing a public gathering, Nadda highlighted Gujarat’s pivotal role in India’s progress, stating, “India is in the making, and Gujarat plays a huge role in this. I am honored to start the Tiranga Yatra from Rajkot today.”
Nadda’s remarks emphasized the historical sacrifices made for India’s freedom and called upon the youth to appreciate this legacy. “Thousands of soldiers lost their lives, and lakhs of families sacrificed their loved ones for the nation,” he said. The campaign aims to instill patriotism and national pride by reaching every home across the country.
The Tiranga Yatra will progress through key cities in Gujarat, including Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. The grand finale in Ahmedabad on August 13 will feature Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Affairs Harsh Sanghavi, and Minister of State for Cooperation Jagdish Vishwakarma.
In Surat, expected to draw around one lakh participants on August 11, prominent leaders such as CM Patel, State BJP Chief C.R. Paatil, and other key ministers will lead the procession. The yatra will also continue in Vadodara on August 12. Renamed as the Rashtra Chetna Yatra, this initiative seeks to foster a renewed sense of patriotism across Gujarat as the nation approaches its 77th Independence Day.
