Jani Master Granted Bail by Telangana High Court Amid Sexual Assault Allegations
Star choreographer Jani Master has been granted bail by the High Court of Telangana following his recent arrest in connection with serious sexual assault allegations. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to secure bail from the Rangareddy district court, Jani Master submitted a bail petition to the High Court, which reviewed the case and granted him conditional bail.
Background of the Case
Jani Master was arrested last month in Goa after a 21-year-old female choreographer accused him of sexual assault, claiming that the abuse began when she was a minor. As a result, he faced charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and was subsequently placed on remand in Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad.
In the wake of the allegations, Jani Master sought interim bail earlier this month to attend the National Awards ceremony for his work on the 2022 film Thiruchitrambalam. However, his request was denied as the National Award Jury decided to suspend his award pending the outcome of the allegations against him.
Ongoing Denials and Support
Despite the serious nature of the charges, Jani Master, along with his wife and close associates, has consistently denied the allegations. They have maintained their stance since the day of his arrest, asserting his innocence in the face of public scrutiny and legal challenges.
