Delhi Government Introduces Cashless Medical Facility for Retired Delhi Vidyut Board Employees
New Delhi: The Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has announced a new cashless medical facility for over 20,000 retired employees of the Delhi Vidyut Board (DVB), as confirmed by Power Minister Atishi on Saturday.
The formal agreement for the cashless medical scheme was signed on Friday, with a notification expected to be issued next week to officially launch the program. This initiative aims to streamline healthcare access for retired employees who faced challenges with reimbursement of medical claims.
Delhi Transco Limited (DTL) will oversee the implementation of the cashless medical facility for those who retired before April 2002. Following the unbundling of DVB into distinct generation, transmission, and distribution entities in 2002, the cashless scheme will also cover employees retired after this date through their respective companies, including PPCL, IGPCL, DTL, and the three distribution companies.
Atishi emphasized that this new facility will address the longstanding difficulties retired employees have encountered in obtaining medical reimbursements, marking a significant improvement in their access to healthcare services.
