Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, a veteran Marxist leader, strongly criticized the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza and called upon anti-imperialist forces and advocates of peace worldwide to condemn what he described as “terrorism.”
In a statement on Facebook, Vijayan referenced the recent Israeli bombings in Rafah refugee camps on Sunday, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of 45 people. He condemned the Israeli government’s continued imperialist actions in Gaza as a grievous affront to global conscience, noting that these attacks persisted despite an order from the International Court of Justice to cease violence in Rafah. According to Vijayan, Israel’s actions have led to the deaths of approximately 36,000 individuals in ongoing atrocities.
Vijayan highlighted widespread international protests against the occupation, which he asserted was bolstered by American imperialism, yet Israel has persisted with its military campaign, ignoring these global demonstrations.
Calling for unified action by anti-imperialist forces and advocates of peace, Vijayan emphasized the urgent need to restore normalcy for the people of Gaza. He asserted that new efforts to suppress Palestinian communities and militarize the region in support of imperialist interests must be unequivocally resisted.
