KTR Blames Congress for Farmers’ Hardships in Telangana
Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao (KTR), working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has accused the Congress party of being responsible for the ongoing struggles faced by farmers in Telangana. In a pointed statement, he highlighted the government’s neglect of the agricultural sector, asserting that both land-owning and tenant farmers are suffering due to a lack of adequate support.
KTR addressed the pressing issues plaguing the farming community, citing an irrigation crisis, an incomplete crop loan waiver, and the absence of the Rythu Bharosa scheme as major contributing factors to the distress among farmers. He expressed grave concern over the rising instances of farmer suicides, emphasizing the emotional toll the crisis has taken on families.
Taking to social media platform X, KTR stated, “Farmers are dying by suicide due to the crisis, yet the government remains unmoved. The Chief Minister shows no empathy, and there is no sense of responsibility from the administration.” His comments reflect a growing frustration within the agricultural community regarding the perceived inaction of state leadership.
KTR issued a stern warning that farmers would hold Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy accountable for the government’s policies that he deems anti-farmer. He criticized Reddy for failing to fulfill promises made to the farming community, underscoring a sentiment of betrayal among the agricultural sector.
Despite the dire circumstances, KTR urged farmers to remain hopeful and resilient. “Bad days will pass, and good days will come again. Jai Kisan!” he concluded, aiming to instill a sense of optimism in the face of adversity.
