K.T. Rama Rao Responds Strongly to Political Allegations Ahead of ACB Inquiry
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) made a defiant statement on Thursday as he headed to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for an inquiry, accompanied by his lawyer Ramachandra Rao and senior BRS leaders. Addressing a media gathering outside his residence before leaving for the ACB office, KTR strongly denied the ongoing political allegations against him and reiterated his commitment to Telangana.
In his statement, KTR emphasized his dedication to the state’s development, stating, “As a son of Telangana, a fighter who participated in the struggle for statehood, and as a soldier of K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), I have worked tirelessly to enhance the prestige of Telangana and elevate Hyderabad on the global map. Hosting events like the Formula E car race was part of these efforts.” He further stressed that during the ten years of BRS governance, the party had not engaged in corrupt practices like awarding multi-crore contracts to relatives or acquiring luxury vehicles through illicit means.
KTR accused the Congress party of attempting to tarnish his image for political gain, particularly targeting Telangana Congress leader Revanth Reddy. He alleged that Reddy was using diversionary tactics by filing false cases against him to gain political mileage. “Congress is trying to gain political advantage by slinging mud. Revanth Reddy wants to divert attention by filing cases against me. But let me be clear—we are not afraid. I will not bow before scoundrels. File as many cases as you want; we have faith in the judiciary and will fight all allegations legally,” KTR asserted.
Refuting allegations of quid pro quo, KTR firmly stated that he had done nothing wrong. He also took a direct swipe at Revanth Reddy, saying, “I am not like you, Revanth Reddy, who was caught red-handed in corruption. I have not indulged in low-level, shady activities like you. The truth will ultimately prevail. I proudly say that I am KCR’s son. If necessary, I will sacrifice my life for Telangana.”
KTR’s comments highlight the ongoing political battle in the state as he prepares to face the legal inquiry, maintaining his stance of innocence and readiness to challenge any unfounded allegations.
