KTR Addresses Media Over Allegations of Rave Party Involvement
In a recent media briefing, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) addressed the confusion and outcry surrounding allegations that his brother-in-law, Raj Pakala, was involved in a rave party. Responding to comments made by political rival Revanth Reddy, KTR criticized the characterization of the event as a rave, clarifying that it was merely a family gathering or Dawath held in Raj’s newly acquired home.
KTR acknowledged that some attendees may have consumed alcohol, but emphasized the presence of children, elderly parents, and families at the event. He condemned the portrayal of the gathering on social media as misleading, stating, “A section of social media was falsely portraying it as a rave party.”
During his address, KTR challenged the media to investigate the facts surrounding the incident, highlighting that out of 12 individuals tested, 11 returned negative results for drug use, while only one person tested positive. He posed the question, “Why don’t you investigate that one person?” urging Revanth Reddy to redirect his focus toward fulfilling electoral promises rather than engaging in what he termed a “witch hunt.”
KTR also took issue with a media outlet that reported his presence at the gathering, questioning the validity of such claims. “Who gave you the right to drag me and my wife into it?” he asked, expressing frustration over the unwarranted scrutiny.
This incident underscores the tensions in the political landscape, as KTR seeks to clarify the situation while holding opponents accountable for their statements. His remarks reflect a commitment to transparency and a call for responsible media reporting amidst sensationalized narratives.
