KTR Slams Telangana Govt for Corruption, Neglect of Key Sectors Under Revanth Reddy’s Leadership

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has harshly criticized the Telangana government, accusing it of corruption and failing to address key issues affecting farmers, students, and the underprivileged. In a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s leadership, KTR declared that the government’s mismanagement and neglect would soon lead to its rejection by the people of Telangana.

Accusations of Inaction on Key Schemes

KTR’s criticism focused on the government’s failure to implement crucial welfare schemes such as Kalyana Laxmi and Rythu Bima, both of which are designed to benefit women and farmers, respectively. He argued that the neglect of these programs has caused considerable hardship for the beneficiaries, particularly in rural areas.

“The government has shown a blatant disregard for the welfare of the people,” KTR said, pointing out that these schemes, which were once lauded for their positive impact, have been left in limbo under the current administration.

Food Poisoning in Gurukuls: A Government Blind to Student Suffering

KTR also raised concerns about the recurring incidents of food poisoning in gurukuls (residential schools for underprivileged students), questioning the government’s inaction despite multiple reports of the issue. “What is the government doing despite repeated incidents of food poisoning? Revanth Reddy remains blind to students’ suffering,” KTR said in a post on X, accusing the Chief Minister of failing to take any concrete steps to resolve the problem.

The BRS working president criticized the state’s education system, which, according to him, is increasingly vulnerable to neglect and poor management, with students suffering due to the government’s inability to ensure basic welfare and safety measures.

Farmers Struggling Amid Lack of Support

KTR’s attack on the government also extended to its treatment of farmers, who he claimed are being exploited by middlemen due to the government’s failure to ensure Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for key crops like paddy and cotton. “Farmers are left at the mercy of middlemen, with no support price for their crops. Extortion has become the norm in market yards,” he said, adding that the government’s procurement centres were ineffective and merely existed for show.

He also accused the government of lacking accountability when it comes to agricultural policies and failing to ensure that paddy procurement centres function effectively, leaving farmers to face financial losses due to inadequate government support.

Criticism of Irrigation Project Deals

In another strong rebuke, KTR slammed the state government’s decision to award multi-crore irrigation projects to companies like Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) and Raghava Constructions, despite concerns about the firms’ past failures. The BRS leader questioned the government’s decision to continue awarding contracts to these firms and accused the Congress government of favoring certain private players at the expense of public interest.

“Is this blatant favouritism the Congress’s version of governance?” KTR asked, demanding transparency and accountability in the allocation of government contracts, particularly those related to large-scale infrastructure and irrigation projects.

Rejection of Congress’s Governance

KTR concluded his statements by criticizing the Congress government for reversing the progress made in Telangana under the previous BRS-led administration. He accused the state government of undoing the gains made in both rural and urban areas, particularly in sectors like irrigation and agriculture, which were once seen as pillars of the state’s development.

With elections on the horizon, KTR’s remarks underscore the growing discontent with the ruling Congress government and the ongoing political battle for control of the state. The BRS working president’s scathing assessment reflects a broader narrative of dissatisfaction with the current administration’s handling of key sectors, including welfare, agriculture, education, and infrastructure.
