Divi Family’s Generous Contribution Boosts Andhra Pradesh Flood Relief Efforts
The recent floods in Andhra Pradesh, particularly affecting Vijayawada and surrounding areas, caused severe distress and panic. In response, government authorities, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, have been actively involved in overseeing relief activities, supported by both philanthropists and local residents.
Among the notable contributors to the relief efforts, the Divi family, owners of Divis Laboratories, has made a significant impact. Dr. Murali Divi partnered with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to provide food packets to flood victims, investing over Rs 4.8 crore in the initiative which lasted for a week, feeding countless families.
In a further gesture of support, Dr. Murali Divi recently met with Nara Lokesh and donated a cheque for Rs 5 crore to the Andhra Pradesh government to aid flood victims. This brings the Divi family’s total contribution to Rs 9.8 crore, including the earlier food supply funds. Additionally, Divis Laboratories has donated another Rs 5 crore to Telangana for flood relief efforts there. Lokesh expressed gratitude to the Divi family for their substantial support during this crisis.
