New Delhi: According to a recent report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), eleven out of 71 ministers in the new council of ministers have declared their highest educational qualification as 12th standard, while 57 ministers have declared having a qualification of graduate level or higher.
The ADR report offers a detailed analysis of the educational backgrounds of Indian ministers, revealing diverse academic qualifications within the country’s political leadership.
The report highlights key trends in educational attainment among the 71 scrutinized ministers. It shows that 15 percent, or 11 ministers, have declared their highest qualification as 12th standard.
In contrast, a substantial majority of 80 percent, or 57 ministers, have qualifications at the graduate level or above. This group is further categorized based on the level of advanced education attained.
Specifically, 14 ministers hold basic university degrees, while an additional 10 ministers possess professional graduate degrees, indicating specialized education in fields such as law, engineering, or medicine.
The largest subgroup among the highly educated ministers consists of those with postgraduate degrees, totaling 26. Additionally, seven ministers have earned doctorate degrees, representing the highest level of academic attainment.
Furthermore, three ministers hold diplomas, having completed specialized vocational or technical training programs.
