Muslim World League Lauds ALPS Group for Efforts in Sudan
The Muslim World League (MWL) has officially praised the “Aligned for Advancing Lifesaving and Peace in Sudan” (ALPS) group for its significant role in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, striving for peace, and providing vital support to those in need.
In a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the MWL and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, highlighted the ALPS group’s dedication and efforts. The coalition, spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and comprising Saudi Arabia, the United States, the Swiss Confederation, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, the African Union, and the United Nations, operates under the Jeddah Declaration framework.
The MWL commended the group’s ongoing initiatives in delivering humanitarian aid, safeguarding civilians, and supporting ceasefire efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in Sudan.
Additionally, Kuwait has expressed support for the ALPS group’s recent mediation efforts in intra-Sudanese talks held in Geneva. The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s dedication to aiding the Sudanese people, noting the completion of 24 air bridge missions that delivered substantial humanitarian assistance.
