N. Chandrababu Naidu, known for his strict administrative approach, has taken decisive actions to revamp the bureaucratic structure after assuming office as Chief Minister for the fourth time. Discontented with the performance of certain IAS officers during the previous YCP regime, Naidu swiftly reorganized the state’s IAS cadre.
In a notable development, Naidu has transferred 19 IAS officers, including the controversial officer Srilakshmi and Special Chief Secretary Rajat Bhargava. While 17 officers were reassigned through transfers and deputations, Srilakshmi, controversially reinstated by the previous administration, was directed to report to the General Administration Department (GAD). This decision was anticipated following an incident where Naidu notably declined a gesture from Srilakshmi at a recent event.
Similarly, Rajat Bhargava, who managed the excise department under the YCP regime, has also been asked to report to GAD.
Through these actions, Naidu has implemented significant changes in the state’s bureaucratic system, emphasizing the need for an earnest and transparent working environment. The newly restructured workforce has been instructed to adhere to these principles moving forward.
