Mahesh Babu Voices Mufasa in Disney’s Upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King; Namrata Shirodkar Shares Insights
Mahesh Babu, the celebrated Telugu superstar, has lent his voice to the character of Mufasa in Disney’s highly anticipated film Mufasa: The Lion King, set to release on December 20th. The film, which revisits the iconic Lion King story, focuses on the backstory of Mufasa, offering audiences a fresh perspective on the beloved character. The film is set to captivate viewers with its visually stunning animation and compelling family-friendly narrative.
Today, Namrata Shirodkar, Mahesh Babu’s wife, along with the Disney team, addressed the media about the project. Namrata expressed her disappointment that Mahesh could not attend the event in person, but she thanked Disney and the production team for bringing the film to life. “It’s unfortunate that Mahesh couldn’t be here today for this wonderful event, but I’m thankful to Disney and Shiva Prasad for making this happen. I’m really looking forward to watching the film with all of you on December 20th,” she said.
Reflecting on her own emotional experience after watching the trailer, Namrata shared her excitement for the film. “I’ve always loved Disney films, especially The Lion King. Seeing Mufasa come to life on screen is truly heartwarming. It’s a family movie that everyone can enjoy. The emotional journey it takes you on is something I’m excited for all of you to experience,” she remarked.
Namrata also provided insight into Mahesh Babu’s dubbing experience for the film, noting that while her husband is not particularly fond of dubbing for his own films, he thoroughly enjoyed the process of voicing Mufasa. “Mahesh isn’t particularly fond of dubbing for his films, but he really loved the process of dubbing for Mufasa,” Namrata revealed.
In addition to Mahesh Babu, several other prominent Telugu actors have lent their voices to the film, including Brahmanandam, Ali, Satyadev, and Ayyappa Sharma, adding to the film’s rich vocal ensemble.
