Union Minister Kiren Rijiju Announces Dates for Winter Session of Parliament
Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, announced the dates for the upcoming Parliamentary Winter Session. According to Rijiju’s post on X (formerly Twitter), the session will be held from November 25 to December 20, 2024, subject to the exigencies of parliamentary business.
Rijiju further stated that on November 26, 2024, which marks Constitution Day and the 75th Anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution, a special event will take place in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan. The event will be a tribute to the historic milestone in India’s constitutional history.
In addition, the Joint Committee on Waqf Amendment Bill is expected to submit its report on November 29, 2024, in Parliament, assuming it adheres to the previously set deadline.
This session is expected to cover a range of legislative business and discussions, in line with the government’s priorities for the current parliamentary calendar.
The announcement comes as Parliament gears up for significant debates and legislation, with the winter session traditionally being a busy period for passing key bills and conducting reviews of governmental policies.
