Modi Highlights Government Achievements for Women at Jalgaon Rally
Jalgaon: Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored his government’s significant contributions to women’s empowerment over the past decade during a Lakhpati Didi rally in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Speaking on Sunday, Modi claimed that his administration has outpaced all previous governments since Independence in supporting women.
Modi highlighted that while less than Rs 25,000 crore in loans were allocated to women self-help groups before 2014, his government has disbursed a staggering Rs 9 lakh crore in the last ten years. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing legal protections for women by advocating for stricter punishments for crimes against them.
Addressing the crowd, Modi asserted the importance of continued support for the BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra to maintain the state’s stability and drive future growth. He praised Maharashtra as a key player in India’s development, emphasizing the need for ongoing investment and job creation.
During the rally, Modi launched a Rs 2,500 crore revolving fund designed to benefit 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh self-help groups, further reinforcing the government’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment through the Lakhpati Didi scheme. He described the initiative as a means to not only enhance women’s income but also to empower future generations.
