PM Modi Reflects on Chandrayaan-3 Success and Space Sector Reforms in Latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’
In his latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio broadcast on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of India’s recent achievements in space exploration and scientific advancements. Modi emphasized that the nation’s accomplishments, including the Chandrayaan-3 mission, are a result of collective efforts and are strengthening the foundation of a developed India.
On August 23, India celebrated its first National Space Day, marking the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 at the Shiv-Shakti point on the Moon’s southern pole. Modi praised the milestone, noting that India became the first country to achieve this feat. “This is a moment we can never forget, and it is a testament to the progress being made in 21st-century India,” he said.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the benefits of space sector reforms for the country’s youth, particularly in relation to startups and innovation. During the broadcast, Modi engaged with the team from Spacetech startup Galaxeye, founded by IIT Madras alumni. Suyash, one of the young scientists, shared their journey from developing the ‘Hyperloop’ project to launching their space technology venture. He credited the 2020 decision to privatize the space sector as pivotal in their development.
Rakshit from Almora discussed his startup’s technology, which can capture images through clouds and at night, enhancing national security and agricultural productivity. Modi responded with a light-hearted comment about ‘Bal Mithai,’ a local delicacy, appreciating the startup’s innovative contributions.
This episode marked PM Modi’s 113th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast. In previous episodes, he praised Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics and Mathematics Olympiad winners, celebrated India’s achievements, and promoted initiatives such as the MANAS helpline to combat drug abuse. Modi also highlighted Assam’s Charaideo Maidam, recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list, encouraging people to visit and explore the site.
Through these reflections, PM Modi reinforced his commitment to supporting and celebrating India’s scientific and cultural milestones.
