Nag Ashwin has garnered significant acclaim following the global success of Prabhas’s film “Kalki 2898 AD,” which amassed a remarkable gross of ₹500 crore in its opening weekend. The promising performance on Monday suggests even greater achievements ahead.
Amidst this triumph, Nag Ashwin shared a heartfelt and humble message on Instagram, reflecting on his journey with Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt.
“Approximately ten years ago, the three of us embarked on our debut feature film ‘Yevade’ together. Vyjayanti was at a low point, and this film was a risky endeavor. I recall a shoot day with 20 extras when it rained, preventing us from completing the scene. The additional cost of reshooting was unaccounted for, causing us significant distress. In hindsight, that expense was minor. From that humble beginning to now, a decade later, every movie we have made together has not only been a box office success but also a milestone in film history. I feel proud and blessed to stand alongside these two and be part of the incredible feats we are achieving. There are shortcomings, and much room for improvement, and we shall. For now, just gratitude,” Nag Ashwin wrote.
This message encapsulates the journey of Vyjayanthi Movies over the past decade, highlighting the challenges faced, the passion they sustained, and the humility they maintain despite their monumental success.
The trio has revitalized the legacy of Vyjayanthi Movies, producing acclaimed films such as “Yevade Subrahmanyam,” “Jathiratnalu,” “Mahanati,” and now “Kalki 2898 AD.” Even in a box office disappointment like “Anni Manchi Sakunamule,” their dedication to cinema is evident.
They have demonstrated their ability to create diverse films, ranging from small-scale projects to grand productions like “Kalki 2898 AD.” The legacy of Aswini Dutt is clearly in capable hands. Furthermore, Tollywood eagerly anticipates their future projects, which will undoubtedly continue to bring pride to the industry.
