Tributes Paid to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Death Anniversary
New Delhi: On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister and a prominent BJP leader, on the anniversary of his death. The ceremony took place at Vajpayee’s memorial, ‘Sadaiv Atal,’ and was attended by various dignitaries, including Union ministers and leaders from different political parties.
Vajpayee, celebrated for his exceptional oratory skills, was instrumental in building alliances during the coalition era of the 1990s and became the first Prime Minister from the BJP. His tenure from 1998 to 2004 was marked by significant reforms and advancements in infrastructure. Vajpayee, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 93, is remembered for his impactful leadership and enduring contributions to the country.
