Actors often navigate the delicate balance between making political comments and maintaining distance from political affiliations. However, there are instances where they find themselves compelled to endorse specific political initiatives. Recently, Rashmika lauded the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January, hailing it as a transformative addition to Mumbai’s transit network.
She expressed, “The journey of two hours can now be completed in 20 minutes, from Navi Mumbai to Mumbai, Goa to Mumbai, and Bangalore to Mumbai. It fills me with pride.”
Rashmika went on to remark, “I believe that India’s progress has been remarkable over the past decade. The country’s growth trajectory is truly impressive. I am left speechless. India stands as a beacon of intelligence and innovation.”
However, Rashmika’s endorsement has faced criticism in light of recent events. Her remarks coincided with a tragic incident in Mumbai where a hoarding collapse led to the loss of 14 lives. Simultaneously, footage of overcrowding at Mumbai’s local train stations highlighted deficiencies in the city’s infrastructure.
In response, Rashmika has been subjected to criticism, with observers suggesting that she should also acknowledge the areas where basic infrastructure is lacking.
