New Delhi: Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max Emerges as Best-Selling Smartphone in Q1 2024
According to the latest report from Counterpoint Research released on Monday, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max claimed the top spot as the best-selling smartphone in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024. The report highlights a significant dominance of Apple and Samsung in the top 10 best-selling smartphones list for Q1, with each securing five positions and leaving no room for other brands.
Analysts noted that the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s ascendancy to the top position marks a notable trend in consumer preference towards high-end smartphones, particularly evident in Apple’s non-seasonal quarter.
“All four variants of the iPhone 15 series, along with the iPhone 14, made it to the top 10 bestsellers. Furthermore, the iPhone 15 lineup clinched the top three spots,” the analysts observed.
Additionally, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series made a noteworthy appearance in the top 10 for Q1, with the Ultra model ranking fifth and the base variant securing the ninth position.
According to analysts, the strong performance of the S24 series can be attributed to Samsung’s early refresh of the lineup and its integration of generative AI (GenAI) technology.
“The introduction of GenAI features and capabilities in the S24 series marked a significant advancement, enabling users to create unique content and engage with their smartphones at a heightened level,” stated the analysts.
It’s noteworthy that Q1 2024 marked the first quarter where all top 10 smartphones were 5G capable.
Looking ahead, analysts anticipate that the top 10 best-selling smartphones will continue to capture a larger share of total smartphone sales, driven by OEMs’ focus on streamlined portfolios featuring premium features, including GenAI integration.
