Saudi Gaming Enthusiast Sets Guinness World Record with 444 Consoles Connected
Riyadh: Ibrahim Al-Nasser, a gaming aficionado from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for connecting the most gaming consoles to a single TV. Al-Nasser managed to link 444 different gaming devices, spanning both modern and retro models, to one television screen through a sophisticated external adapter.
His extensive collection features a range of consoles including the Xbox 360, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, Neo Geo AES, Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and the pioneering Magnavox Odyssey. In addition to these, he has integrated various accessories such as the N64DD, Famicom Disc System, 32X, Dreamcast Karaoke device, and SNES Satellaview.
In an interview with Guinness World Records, Al-Nasser explained his motivation, “I have so many video game consoles. Over time, I realized I had amassed a large collection that was difficult to play simultaneously.” He noted the challenge of limited TV ports and the need for extensive switchers and converters to accommodate his collection.
To tackle this, Al-Nasser devised a complex setup involving over 30 RCA switchers and more than a dozen HDMI switchers, supported by an Excel spreadsheet that guides the activation of specific switchers for each console. His dedication to gaming and ingenuity in managing a vast array of systems underscore his passion for the hobby.
Al-Nasser also shared his fondness for the Sega Genesis, naming it his all-time favorite gaming system. His innovative approach not only sets a new world record but also highlights the intricate world of gaming and collection management.
