Hyderabad: Woman Survives Stray Dog Attack, Incident Highlights Rising Concern
Hyderabad: A woman was attacked by approximately 15 stray dogs during her morning walk in Hyderabad on Saturday. The incident occurred at Chitrapuri Hills in Manikonda. Despite the severity of the attack, the woman managed to survive due to her quick thinking.
The attack has raised concerns, as many residents of Hyderabad engage in morning walks. A video of the incident shows the woman falling to the ground but quickly getting back up and defending herself against the aggressive dogs.
Following the incident, the woman’s husband advised that stray dogs should be fed outside colony premises to prevent such occurrences. He further questioned, “What if small children face similar attacks from these stray dogs?”
There have been several fatal attacks by stray dogs in Hyderabad in recent times. In December last year, a five-month-old baby died in the Vinoba Nagar neighborhood in the Shaikpet area. Another one-year-old child was attacked by a stray dog in Shamshabad in February 2024. In April 2024, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was mauled to death by stray dogs while playing outside an under-construction apartment building in Gayatri Nagar.
Despite these incidents, authorities have not taken adequate action, and stray dogs continue to pose a threat to the residents of Hyderabad.
