Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin Lays Foundation Stone for Tata Motors’ ₹9,000 Crore Manufacturing Facility
Ranipet: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially laid the foundation stone for a significant new manufacturing facility by Tata Motors, representing an investment of ₹9,000 crore. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at Panapakkam, located approximately 115 km from Chennai. This new facility is anticipated to create around 5,000 jobs, bolstering the local economy.
The event was attended by senior DMK ministers, including Durai Murugan and TRB Rajaa, as well as Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and Tata Sons Ltd Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, marking a noteworthy gathering of political and corporate leaders.
In his address, Chief Minister Stalin expressed enthusiasm for Tata Motors’ decision to establish the manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu. “Tamil Nadu is the foremost investment destination, not only for major companies operating in India but also for multinational corporations. We are pleased to have Chandrasekaran here today. Hailing from Namakkal district and leading a globally renowned company, he is a source of pride for our state,” Stalin remarked.
The establishment of this manufacturing facility follows a memorandum of understanding signed between Tata Motors and the Tamil Nadu government earlier in March, signifying a strong commitment to the region’s industrial growth.
This project underscores Tamil Nadu’s position as a key player in India’s automotive sector and reflects the state government’s efforts to attract significant investments. With Tata Motors’ expansion, the region is poised for enhanced economic development and job creation, further solidifying Tamil Nadu’s status as a hub for manufacturing and innovation.
