Telangana Government Proposes Rs 3,003 Crore for Minority Welfare in State Budget 2024
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, also serving as the state’s finance minister, announced on Thursday a proposed allocation of Rs 3,003 crore for minority welfare in the Telangana state budget 2024. Emphasizing the importance of minority development in overall state progress, he underscored ongoing initiatives such as free civil services coaching for students from minority, BC, SC, and ST communities. Additionally, the budget includes provisions for a Rs 5,000 stipend for local students and Rs 2,500 for those studying in their locality. Mallu highlighted specific allocations, including Rs 33 crore for Ramzan celebrations and Rs 50 lakh for Ashoorkhanas maintenance, alongside Rs 4.43 crore for Haj and Rs 2.4 crore for the Tablighi Jamaat meeting in January 2024.
