Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Announces Surprise Visits and Strict Monitoring of Officials’ Performance
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced plans to conduct surprise visits to various districts starting after January 26, holding officials accountable for their performance. Speaking to district Collectors, he emphasized the need for greater field-level engagement, urging officials to stay vigilant and responsive to the public’s needs.
Focus on Accountability and Field Engagement
In his address, CM Revanth Reddy stressed that district Collectors must not limit themselves to office work but should be proactive by conducting field trips. He made it clear that any negligence in performing duties would attract strict action. His focus on grassroots engagement aims to ensure that government schemes and services reach the people efficiently and transparently.
The Chief Minister described the welfare of the poor and the state’s development as the “two eyes” of the “People’s Government.” He pointed out that the district Collectors, as the government’s representatives at the ground level, play a crucial role in instilling trust among the people.
Monitoring and Improvement of Hostels
Reddy also ordered female IAS and IPS officers to visit girls’ hostels once a month, with the requirement to stay overnight. These visits are intended to identify and resolve issues faced by students, ensuring their well-being and safety.
Key Welfare Schemes to be Launched
At the Collectors’ conference, CM Revanth Reddy discussed the implementation of several important welfare schemes, including Rythu Bharosa and Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa. The Chief Minister clarified that the schemes would be launched on January 26, with Rythu Bharosa providing farmers with investment support of Rs 12,000 per acre annually, while Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa will provide Rs 12,000 per year to landless agricultural labor families.
He also emphasized the importance of holding Grama Sabhas in villages and ward meetings in municipalities to ensure transparency and fairness in beneficiary selection. The details gathered for beneficiary identification should be disclosed in these meetings, ensuring the public’s involvement in the process.
Aiming for Transparent Governance
Addressing concerns about misuse of funds in previous administrations, the Chief Minister warned that such mistakes should not be repeated. He also directed that non-agricultural lands be excluded from the Rythu Bharosa scheme to avoid misallocation of resources.
Collaboration and Support from Key Officials
The meeting also saw the participation of Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers, State Planning Board Vice Chairman Chinna Reddy, Chief Advisor to the Government Vem Narender Reddy, and other senior officials. The collaboration between the Chief Minister and officials highlights the government’s commitment to improving governance at the grassroots level and ensuring the success of welfare schemes.
By placing strong emphasis on transparency, accountability, and field-level engagement, CM Revanth Reddy’s strategy aims to foster a more responsive government that directly addresses the needs of Telangana’s people.
