Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Announces Rs 110 Crore Development Plan for Kurumurthy and Mahabubnagar
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the Sri Kurumurthy Swamy temple in Mahabubnagar district, where he launched a significant development initiative aimed at improving the region’s infrastructure. Calling Kurumurthy the “poor man’s Tirupati,” Reddy unveiled plans for a Rs 110 crore ghat road corridor that will enhance accessibility to the temple and surrounding areas.
During his address, Reddy also highlighted the long-standing neglect of irrigation projects in Mahabubnagar, a region known for its contributions to the nation’s labour force in the irrigation sector. He pointed out that many local irrigation projects had remained incomplete due to administrative oversight in the past. He made a firm commitment to completing the Makthal, Narayanpet, and Kodangal irrigation projects, warning that any attempts to obstruct them would face public opposition.
Reddy further acknowledged Mahabubnagar’s historical support for regional political movements, crediting the district with playing a significant role in the rise of Telangana’s leadership. He also pointed out that the district has been a stronghold for the Congress party, contributing 12 MLAs, two MPs, and even a Chief Minister.
The CM outlined additional plans to enhance local infrastructure, such as providing BT roads to every village, and emphasized improving education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for the underserved communities in Mahabubnagar.
Accompanied by ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Damodara Raja Narasimha, Revanth Reddy expressed his gratitude for the blessings of Lord Kurumurthy, attributing his leadership rise to the divine support.
