Hyderabad, Aug 11: Telangana Secures ₹31,500 Crore Investment in US Business Tour
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s recent visit to the United States has culminated in a significant business achievement, with the state securing investment deals totaling ₹31,500 crore. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) described the tour as a resounding success, underscoring its impact on the state’s economic prospects.
During the visit, which concluded on Sunday, the Telangana delegation—including IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu—engaged in over 50 business meetings and participated in three roundtable conferences across major cities including New York, Washington, Dallas, and California. The delegation successfully concluded 19 investment deals and memoranda of understanding (MOUs), expected to generate approximately 30,750 new jobs in the state.
The business tour was marked by substantial support for various state initiatives, including the development of a Future City, an AI City, and the rejuvenation of the Musi River. The delegation’s efforts also included a strategic pitch positioning Telangana as an attractive alternative to China for American companies.
Key outcomes from the visit include several notable announcements:
- IT Sector: Significant deals were secured, such as the establishment of the Charles Schwab GCC, expansions by global IT giants Cognizant and Arcesium, and a major new HR solutions venture with Trinet.
- Pharma and Life Sciences: Investments from nearly a dozen American firms were finalized, including a new R&D facility by Amgen and an MoU with Corning to enhance skilling and flow chemistry. Zoetis Inc. and major expansions by HCA and Thermofisher further bolster Telangana’s life sciences sector.
- Data Centres and Technology: Amazon announced plans for substantial expansion of its data centre operations in Hyderabad, while Aurum Equity revealed intentions to set up an AI-powered green data centre. Monarch Tractors also committed to advancing high-end manufacturing in Telangana.
- Engagement with Major Tech Firms: The delegation met with representatives from Apple, Google, and Stanford University, exploring further opportunities for collaboration.
The visit underscores Telangana’s growing prominence as a hub for investment and innovation, with a broad spectrum of sectors poised to benefit from the new deals and partnerships forged during the tour.
