Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka Sets Ambitious Power Generation Targets for Yadadri Thermal Plant
In a decisive move to boost power generation, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed TSGENCO officials to ensure that the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant generates 4,000 megawatts (MW) of power by March next year. This directive came during a crucial meeting held at the Telangana Secretariat on Sunday, August 4.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka laid out a detailed timeline for the commissioning of the plant’s units: the first unit is expected to be operational by October 30, the second by October 15, the fourth unit by December-end, and the third and fifth units by February and March 2025, respectively.
During the meeting, TSGENCO officials reported delays due to health issues among some staff members. In response, Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized the importance of staff welfare and directed that a medical camp be set up immediately. He also instructed that mosquito nets be provided and extensive fogging be carried out to ensure a safe working environment.
To further support the workforce, Bhatti Vikramarka announced plans to visit the Yadadri plant in August to meet with officers and staff. He also mandated the initiation of tenders for the construction of residential quarters to accommodate personnel locally. In the interim, he directed that special buses be arranged to transport staff from Miryalaguda and Damaracherla.
Additionally, Bhatti Vikramarka requested a progress report within a week on the construction of the Thalla Veerappagudem – Damaracherla four-lane bypass road, which is crucial for the transportation of ash from the Yadadri power plant.
This comprehensive approach underscores the Deputy Chief Minister’s commitment to both advancing the state’s energy infrastructure and ensuring the well-being of the workforce involved in this significant project.
