Hyderabad: Telangana commemorated its 10th Formation Day with grand celebrations on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
The day commenced with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laying floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park, honoring Telangana martyrs.
Subsequently, at the Parade Grounds, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unfurled the national flag and received a guard of honor from armed police forces. The event included a march-past by contingents and featured the unveiling of the new state anthem, “Jaya Jaya Hey Telangana,” composed by Oscar-winning musician MM Keeravani with lyrics by Ande Sri.
In his address, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy underscored that the government views itself as a servant rather than a ruler of the state, emphasizing their commitment to “Praja Palana” (public welfare).
He stressed the values of inclusivity and challenged hegemony, referring to them collectively as “Telanganaism.”
Revanth Reddy further announced the government’s initiative, “Green Telangana – 2050,” outlining plans to divide the state into three zones: Urban Telangana (within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road), Suburban Telangana (from there to the Regional Ring Road), and Rural Telangana (extending to the state borders).
During his speech, the Chief Minister addressed various critical issues including Musi River redevelopment, employment, education, housing, electricity, and agricultural concerns, outlining the government’s initiatives and future plans in these areas.
